5 Easy Ways To Tell If A Girl Doesn’t Like You

October 17, 2025 · DATING

In this post, I’m going to go over five signs she doesn’t like you. Not everyone you like is going to like you back, and that is totally okay.

As sad as it is to realize that someone doesn’t like you, the sooner you realize this, the sooner you can move on with your life.

Today I’m going to be going over five easy ways to tell she doesn’t like you.

Another really important thing I want to point out here is you should not want to be with someone that doesn’t like you.

That’s like hearing about a party that you weren’t invited to and asking if you can go. You just don’t do that.

It would really be an awkward, uncomfortable and a horrible situation. You should want to be with someone that reciprocates feelings for you so you’re in a happy, healthy relationship.

It is the twenty-first century, and begging for a girl’s attention shouldn’t be something you’re caught doing. If you’re not her first choice, then why do you want to be her back up plan?

If you guys haven’t already, be sure to save the pin below to be in the loop for when I release more content. It helps me out, which also helps you out, and I do appreciate it.

Five Signs She Doesn’t Like You

1. Lack Of Communication

Number one on my list is a lack of communication. This could be not texting you back for 24 hours at a time.

And when she does text you back, she’s being really short or barely saying anything. She doesn’t really seem engaged or really wants to talk to you at all.

She’s not asking you any questions and she’s just kind of saying, “Yep, cool, sure.” These are bad signs.

When a girl likes you, you’ll normally be able to tell when you talk to her.

She’ll be asking you questions; she’ll seem really interested in what you have to say or carrying on the conversation or just trying to learn things about you in general.

If she’s not doing those things, then that might be a sign she doesn’t like you.

Though, sometimes it could be that she is shy and really not a good texter or doesn’t want to talk a lot, but a lot of times it just means she doesn’t care and she doesn’t really like you.

Another thing I want to point out is if a girl is only texting you when she needs a favor from you, needs you to help her move or needs you to drive her somewhere.

Then, that is a horrible sign, guys. She probably knows that you like her, and she just wants to use you for your time and your effort and your energy.

Be careful of this. I hate to see this happen because I actually know a lot of people that this happens to.

I have a couple guy friends that tell me absolutely everything about the girls that they’re seeing, and I just get so mad.

Make sure this doesn’t happen to you and just know that if a girl wants to talk to you, she will, and normally you’ll know if she likes you from this.

Personal Experience:

Let me just add in my own personal experience and opinion that, every time I’ve liked a guy in the past, I’ve always really wanted to talk to them.

I have never gone a day without responding to their text, I would at least let them know I’m busy if I am and I don’t have time to reply.

I think when a girl likes you, she wants to talk to you, and if she can’t at the moment, she’ll let you know that she can’t, that’s common courtesy.

Of course, things come up, and sometimes we get really busy and time gets away from us, but pretty generally, I think if she doesn’t reply to you in a day, it’s not a good sign.

2. She Flakes Out

If she cancels on you at the last minute, if she makes up excuses as to why she can’t hang out or do something with you, she probably doesn’t like you.

The first time this happens, I think it’s okay to kind of give her a pass, sometimes things really do come up, and it’s last minute, and we didn’t foresee it happening.

But when this continuously happens more than once and it becomes a pattern that is really easy to see that she’s doing everything she can to get out of hanging out with you, which girls don’t do if they like you.

More importantly, this just shows that she doesn’t respect your time. If you’re putting your time and energy into someone, you should be getting that back. So if you’re not, don’t even pursue this girl.

3. No Physical Touch

As a lady myself, I think when we really like someone, it’s normal to want to hold their hand or give them a hug or something like that.

But If you’re noticing she doesn’t touch you at all or even get remotely close to you, or she dismisses your advances towards her, this could be a bad sign.

I’m not talking about when you see some girl at a bar and you go up to her; you’ve never met her before and you put your hand on her back.

I’ve had guys do this to me, and all I can just say is I hate this. If I don’t know you, I don’t expect you to touch me.

Because you have germs, and I don’t want them on me. But if a girl likes you, she’s gonna want you to touch her.

But I’m talking about if you’ve gone out with a girl or you’re friends her, you know her, and you go to give her a hug and she’s weird about it.

Or you really like her and you feel like she maybe likes you too and you go to hold her hand and she is like, “No way.” then that is a sign she doesn’t like you.

It could be that she’s just shy, and that’s the reason why she isn’t touching you, but if you go to touch her and she just acts really weird about it, then she probably either doesn’t like you or she just sees you as a friend.

4. If She Refers To You As Friend

If she’s constantly throwing the “f” word around—and by “f” word, I of course mean “friend”—this is not a good sign.

A lot of times, this is a girl’s way of hinting that she’s not interested in you without being mean.

She’ll say things like, “You’re such a good friend,” or, “I love having you as a friend.” These are very dreaded terms and sentences to hear as a guy pursuing a girl.

This is not a deal breaker. I think there are ways that you can get out of the friend zone with certain people.

I’ve seen people do it; I know that it works sometimes, but it depends on the girl. Just because it worked for someone else doesn’t mean it’s going to work for you.

If she sees you as a friend, this is a really tough spot to be in, but it doesn’t mean that it will be that way forever.

There’s still hope in this case; it’s just very slim. If you’re hearing the word “friend” thrown around a lot, she probably doesn’t like you.

5. She’s Talking To Other Guys

By this, I mean she’s talking to other guys just as much or more than she’s talking to you, or she’s coming to you for advice about these other guys.

Sometimes girls can bring up other guys as a way to make you jealous, which I don’t think is healthy.

I don’t think she should be doing that; I think it’s really unhealthy and playing games and being catty.

I’m not into that at all. I don’t think high-quality, healthy women do that, but I know sometimes girls do that, so we can’t completely rule that out.

What I’m talking about is she’s coming to you for advice about other guys.

Maybe you’re friends with her, and she’s asking you about Joe that she met, and she wants advice on what she should do to get him on a date, or she’s asking about relationship advice.

That’s not a good sign because she sees you as her friend that she can go to for advice about another guy.

This is not a good sign because she sees you as that close guy friend and not as a romantic partner.

Another aspect here is that she’s talking about her ex a lot, which is technically another guy but doesn’t necessarily mean she’s pursuing him.

It might just mean that she’s not over him. I know breakups can be hard; it’s difficult to get over a relationship. If she just broke up with him, I think that’s totally understandable.
