Welcome to Lovers Toolbox and today I will be sharing with you another of my informative research. I may have a stable marriage these days but this doesn’t mean everything was this once rosy, we fought hell and heaven; the good and bad sides of life to make sure we are where we want to be today.
However, before marriage, I had a life, especially during my time at college. Dealing with lying in a relationship is a very difficult task, this I know first-hand because I have been a liar and I have also been lied to.
I never grew up thinking about the joy that came with playing with the heart of others but when you are just 19 and your first relationship ends in a devastating way, it looks like the only option available even if this too isn’t true.
After discouraging the pleasure that hid between the legs of a man, I always desired to go back there but I only desired that of my boyfriend at that time. This was until I realized 7 other girls were eating from my plate.
I became bitter and wanted revenge for every woman. I wouldn’t say now that this journey good was for although it felt like it then, playing with people’s hearts has never been and would never be a good thing.
I thought I had forgotten this part of me until a few weeks ago when my brother came to me for help. He reiterated that he was not spying on his daughter but he somehow came across a tab on her browser that said: “signs your boyfriend is lying”.
Like I said my reputation was popular in the family even though I was a girl, from my first relationship that went sour because of lies to the dozens of boys who were ready to give up their lives for me because of my lies.
I went over to their place during the weekend and had a long talk with his daughter – I don’t know if it is a special gift but I have something in me that makes people want to open up to me.
She told me her story – she was dating a boy who kept confusing her every day. The relationship was moving from good to bad and then good again, almost like it was some sort of merry-go-round.
From all I heard, I knew this player wasn’t only lying but he was also cheating. However, she had to conclude herself – no matter what happens, it is her life and not ours at the end of the day.
So instead of affirming her claims of him not being a faithful lover, I gave her 9 tips on how to tell if someone is lying;
1. He Goes M.I.A
The first thing you notice about a lying man or a cheat is his absence. Don’t get me wrong, men can be busy, they will have one thousand and one things to do just to make ends meet but men also get free time and you know when that free time is.
Some work 9-5 jobs and are free during weekends, some work on weekends but have off days from work. If your man begins to trade all his free time for work instead of you without a promotion or the announcement of a project then you need to know what that work is.
I think this is the most visible of the signs your boyfriend is lying that is if you take away the having proof part.
Where your heart is, there your treasures will lie and whether you like it or not, time is a treasure – so it is important to know where and with whom he is spending all the free ones he has.
If that person is not you then I think you may have a problem. Even when you have his presence things go from, we to me fast, his best interest is what he begins to consider instead of the collective opinion of the house like he used to.
2. Signs Your Boyfriend Is Lying: Nothing Adds Up
One of the signs your partner is lying could probably be the fact that nothing he says ever makes sense. Like he says good morning at 7 pm and goodnight at 8 am.
It starts with their body language which changes immediately their loyalty leaves you. This was how I knew my first relationship was on the speeding on the highway without a brake pad.
I know how he normally reacts to my touch and all of a sudden it became different when my hands were on him. This is because no two people make us feel the same way; it is either better or worse and our reactions can never be the same.
This is why one man can make you squirt while another would only manage to see you cum. His stories too don’t make sense, that is another aspect of this.
He tells you he was at work late today but asks him again a few weeks after; you would start hearing stories about a dinner with colleagues that lead to Jim getting drunk and him having to take Jim home.
When your partner begins to lie to you, there is a high tendency that he is also lying to the other girl or person generally taking his time and this brings the possibility of a contradiction in stories when he is asked of it some days from now.
So, if you are looking for signs your boyfriend is lying then listen carefully to the stories, he tells you and pays attention to his body language.
3. There Is Proof
Sometimes everything becomes very easy for you. You don’t need to look for a private investigator or fill your google search with ‘how to tell if your partner is lying and cheating’ or ‘how to tell if your boyfriend is lying through text’.
Sometimes he forgets to cover his tracks and if you trace them quietly and carefully, it leads you right to all the secrets he has been trying to hide from you.
Of all the signs your boyfriend is lying, this is one that involves you being careful because these signs don’t just wander about the house and they are never complete.
I was thought that every woman is an F.B.I agent inside of her and I do not think this makes the female gender a crazy species, it is more of a superpower and I think it is needed here.
It could be as small as a lipstick stain on his shirt or a missing piece from the pack of condoms he always carries in his wallet – a pack that has caused multiple arguments between the two of you because he isn’t supposed to be with you and then carry condoms around like he is expecting action somewhere else.
4. Signs Your Boyfriend Is Lying: He Accuses You A Lot
The thing with lying consistently is the fact that it changes us a little. So, one of the signs your boyfriend is lying could be the fact that he is acting differently.
Maybe his mistress demands that he looks different and he agrees with her opinions. He accuses you a lot, that’s what we are talking about here.
Well, if he does this a lot it may be because he doesn’t want to see the table turn on him. It is more like a defense mechanism – he comes home late and blames you first for keeping the lights on and increasing the light bill. This way there is little or no time for you to regroup and slam him for staying out late.
5. Everyone Sees It Except You
I have always believed those people who think that love is blind and this is my proof. Most times everyone knows and sees the sign, everyone except you. They know he is out with his mistress but you still believe he is at work because he told you so.
When every other person is calling your man a cheat, I think it is time you look into the case because I was taught that in every lie there is just that atom of truth and that truth is what you need to be looking for. I am not saying they will be right all the time but it is never a bad thing to take a second look.
6. He Spends Too Much Time On Explanations
One of the signs your boyfriend is lying could be the length of his sentences when he is trying to explain, funny but true.
One thing about lying is that if you are not careful, you run with it most time. A one-word answer turns into a narrative essay carrying three thousand words and some pictures.
He explains too much because he wants to sound believable but in the process, the story begins to contradict and sound far-fetched if you listen closely.
So, when next you ask him a question over something small and he decides to write a novel, just know that whatever that storyline is, it is a fiction story.
7. Signs Your Boyfriend Is Lying: He Gets Defensive A Lot
Another sign would be the fact that he acts like a wounded lion when you come at him with a few basic questions like where have you been or whose lipstick stain is on your shirt.
He hits you with all the vigor he can muster from his lips because he knows that he needs to turn the whole situation in his favor, so he gets defensive always even when you do not have a case to present.
8. He Says The Most
This is the trickiest of all the signs your boyfriend is lying. Men will say things and mean them, no doubt about this but there will be those men who say the most; the “I love you”, “I will never do this to you”, “I only want to see you happy”, “I can’t cheat on you” kind of men.
Most times men who say the most end up proving to us that actions do speak louder than words. So, if your man is one then I am not saying he is lying or cheating but then I would suggest you watch your back.
9. He Distracts You With Gifts And Intimacy
These men are the worst kind. Manipulative; that’s the only word I can think of as fit for them. They lie to you and toy with your emotions and whenever they feel like you have caught them, they use the only thing they know how to as an escape route – intimacy and gifts.
They begin to buy you things in hopes that their sins will be forgiven and then they try to treat you right for the time being (foot rub, massages, lovemaking), whatever it is that ticks your box is exactly what they will be offering you.
This happens every time because they are never sorry for their actions, they just know how to keep your forgiveness channel open.
My niece broke up with her boyfriend last night – she called me immediately; her dad and I took her out to dinner and we had a long talk about the whole situation. She checked for these nine flaws in her man and was able to find seven, along with text messages and images he has been hiding from her.
I know it is the hardest thing to do but finding peace is better in the long run. So, there you have it, the key to knowing if you need to continue giving him the privilege of waking up to your beautiful face every morning.
